About Me
Hi, I'm Anveer.
I'm a skateboarder from Goa and I've been skating since 2015.
In 2016, I started working with the award-winning organisation 'Janwaar Castle' (later known as the Barefoot Skateboarders) in Madhya Pradesh, where skateboarding was used as a medium to bring about social, cultural and economic change in a small village. This was a life-changing experience for me and it showed me the power of sports and play in binding communities.
Since then I have been part of some extraordinary projects involving building skateparks in very unconventional settings in rural India, to designing the first Govt funded skatepark for Panaji Smart City, Goa.
In my continuous collaboration with ProtoVillage in Andhra Pradesh, we have established a second, world-class skatepark to nurture local talent and support aspiring athletes in competing at an international level through training.
Skateboarding also brought me opportunities like consulting Penguin Random House on a book about Skateboarding in India to helping shoot a short film for a fundraiser that premiered on The Berrics.
I am one of the founders, and the driving force behind 'SkatelifeGoa' which is Goa's local skateboarding community. In addition to our year long activities, we organise one of the bigger skateboarding jams in India called the 'SLG Open' every summer.
An explorer by heart, I love being outdoors and am always ready to get my hands dirty DIY style.
